At Jamiah Faqihul-Ummah For Boys, we believe every child deserves love, safety, and an opportunity to thrive. Since 2002, our orphanage has been home to boys who have lost parents or come from vulnerable circumstances. We raise them in an environment that balances care, discipline, and Islamic tarbiyah, ensuring they grow up with both dignity and purpose.

Shelter & Belonging

Dormitory housing for 50+ boys, aged 6 and above.
A safe, nurturing environment where boys are treated like family.
Dedicated caregivers who offer guidance and emotional support.

Food & Nutrition

Nutritious meals served daily, ensuring physical growth and well-being.
Attention to dietary needs in accordance with halal standards.
Special meals during Ramadan, Eid, and Islamic occasions.

Education – Secular & Islamic

Formal schooling through nearby schools in Florida, Roodepoort, and Randburg.
Tutoring at the centre to reinforce schoolwork and provide extra help.
Islamic studies including Qur’an recitation and memorization, tajweed, seerah, aqeedah, and fiqh.
Character building (akhlaaq & adab) to raise responsible, respectful young men.

Emotional & Social Support

Mentorship from caregivers, imams, and community elders.
Counseling for trauma and challenges faced by orphaned children.
Encouragement to participate in community programs, salah, and events, building confidence and belonging.

Our Approach to Education

🌙 Islamic Tarbiyah

We believe Islamic education is the foundation of a child’s future. Every boy is guided to live by Qur’an and Sunnah, learning respect, humility, honesty, and service to the Ummah.

Secular Education

Our boys are enrolled in local schools, giving them access to quality formal education. Through tutoring, homework assistance, and mentorship, we ensure no child is left behind academically.

Life Skills Training

We equip our boys with the tools they need for independence:

Financial responsibility & budgeting.
Household management (cleaning, cooking, teamwork).
Leadership and communication skills.
Preparing for tertiary education and employment.

From Orphan to Leader

We don’t stop at raising children — we raise future leaders. Our program follows each child from early childhood until adulthood, supporting them as they transition to higher studies, apprenticeships, or employment. Even when a boy leaves our centre, our managers continue to mentor and monitor his growth, offering guidance until he is fully independent.

Amanah of Caring for Orphans

Caring for orphans is an amanah entrusted to us by Allah ﷻ and encouraged strongly in Islam. We are guided by the beautiful hadith:

“The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this,”
– and the Prophet ﷺ held his two fingers together. (Bukhari & Muslim)
