About Us

Who We Are

Jamiah Faqihul-Ummah For Boys was founded in 2002 by a dedicated group of Muslim brothers and community leaders, who recognized the urgent need for an orphanage in Maraisburg, Randburg. Their vision was to provide a sanctuary where orphaned and vulnerable boys could be raised with love, dignity, and the guiding principles of Islam.
What began as a humble initiative has, by the mercy of Allah ﷻ, grown into a trusted institution that has supported hundreds of children and families over the past two decades. Today, Jamiah Faqihul-Ummah For Boys not only provides daily care to over 50 boys but also serves the wider community through welfare, Islamic education, and outreach programs.
Our Mission
Our mission is to nurture, educate, and empower orphaned boys so they may grow into strong, independent, and righteous men who embody the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah, while becoming active, positive contributors to society.
Our Vision
Our Vision To be a model Islamic orphanage and community hub that raises the next generation of leaders, grounded in faith, equipped with knowledge, and committed to serving the Ummah and humanity at large.

Our Ethos

At Jamiah Faqihul-Ummah For Boys, caring for orphans is more than charity — it is an act of worship, a sacred amanah (trust), and a way of fulfilling the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who himself was an orphan.

Every child under our care is raised as part of a family, not as a statistic. They are loved, taught, mentored, and supported until they are ready to stand independently as adults.

How We Work

Our Approach

1. Holistic Care

  • Shelter & Nutrition: Safe housing, healthy meals, and essential needs provided daily.

  • Health & Well-being: Access to medical support, physical care, and emotional guidance.

2. Education for Life

  • Islamic Education: Qur’an memorization, tajweed, seerah, fiqh, and tarbiyah.

  • Secular Education: Enrolment in local schools (Florida, Roodepoort, Randburg) complemented by tutoring.

  • Life Skills: Training in responsibility, discipline, and independence.

3. Community Integration

  • Children actively participate in local masjid programs, salah, and community gatherings.

  • Continuous mentorship until adulthood, with ongoing support as they transition to independent living.

Our Facilities

  • Dormitories housing 50+ boys.

  • Jamaat-Khana doubling as salaah space and madressah.

  • Study rooms and classrooms.

  • Kitchen and dining facilities providing daily meals.

  • Wudhu-khana, showers, and sanitary areas.

  • Multipurpose hall for classes, events, and outreach.

Our Community Role

Jamiah Faqihul-Ummah For Boys is not only an orphanage but also a community centre where the Ummah gathers for worship, learning, and mutual support:

  • Weekly women’s madressah.

  • Ramadan iftar and taraweeh programs.

  • Eid salah and celebrations.

  • Ongoing distribution of food, clothing, and aid to over 100 families.

Our Leadership & Support

The orphanage is overseen by a committed management team assisted by teachers, social workers, and professional volunteers.

We are sustained entirely by the will of Allah ﷻ and the generosity of donors through Zakat, Lillah, Sadaqah, and in-kind contributions. Professional volunteers such as tutors, accountants, and mentors regularly give their time and expertise, ensuring transparency, accountability, and excellence in all operations.

Our Legacy & Future

For over 20 years, Jamiah Faqihul-Ummah For Boys has raised orphans with dignity and care. Many of our boys have gone on to complete their schooling, pursue careers, and become leaders who now support the very institution that nurtured them.

Looking ahead, our vision is to expand our facilities, increase our outreach, and continue building a self-sustaining model of orphan care inspired by Islamic values.
